Maggie Rogers Joins Dead & Company for a Night at Madison Square Garden

The legacy of the Grateful Dead lives on and is accompanied by a special guest Maggie Rogers during the Fall 2019 Fun Run Tour.

Earlier this year Dead & Company announced their 2019 Fall Fun Run Tour and tickets were of high demand. Dead & Company has been carrying on the Grateful Dead legacy since 2015. With every tour the band gets better and better. Some people may think the old timers of the Grateful Dead are slowing down and the band is not introducing new & fun ideas. But if you listen to this past tour they are bound to prove you wrong.

During the first leg of the 2019 Fall Fun Run Tour Dead & Company played at Madison Square Garden, Nassau Coliseum, and Hampton Coliseum. After a magical night one Madison Square Garden on Halloween, they set the bar even higher for night two.
For the first set they started off with a great “cold rain and snow” leading into “hell in a bucket”. Later in the first set they invited guest performer Maggie Rogers to the stage for a beautiful rendition of “Friend on the Devil”.

Set two was one for the books. They came out performing Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain and later did China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider. These songs are Grateful Dead classics and are usually mixed with the deepest jams.

For the encore they invited Maggie Rogers back out for a performance of “The Weight” which was one of the most popular covers in the Grateful Dead’s arsenal of songs. When the Grateful Dead performed it they lyrics would bounce from band member to band member. Dead & Company is doing non the less, everyone would sing. Then to end the encore they ended with “Brokedown Palace”.
